We are pleased to announce that we have been selected for the “Singapore-Indonesia Course” and “American Regional Entrepreneurship Course (Silicon Valley)” by J-StarX, the entrepreneurship development and overseas dispatch program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. We were selected for our potential in international growth. We will take this selection as an opportunity to further accelerate global business expansion and international recruitment.

Singapore-Indonesia Course
Period: October 23 – November 3, 2023

Course overview: This program utilizes the network of local partners to develop innovative entrepreneurs in Singapore, which leads the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia, and in Indonesia, which is approaching Singapore in terms of the number of unicorn companies produced. The program starts with a domestic program where entrepreneurs deepen their understanding of the market characteristics and ecosystems in these countries. Mentoring and English pitch training are also provided. In Indonesia and Singapore, the program includes visits to local SU/VCs, mentoring, field studies, pitches, etc. while networking with cutting-edge local ecosystems for future business expansion in Southeast Asia.

American Regional Entrepreneurship Course (Silicon Valley)
Period: December 4 – 15, 2023
Participant: Executive Officer Shota Koketsu

Course overview: This program consists of on-site training in the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem and introductions to local key personnels. The Regional Entrepreneurship Course aims to support entrepreneurs and individuals preparing to start a business in Japan, primarily in regional cities. This program is in collaboration with the Startup City Promotion Council, which aims to provide role models that value local individuality for municipalities in order to transform Japan into a country where challenges are valued.

Morus is an R&D-focused startup company that conducts research and produces biomaterials made from silkworms, the insects that have supported development of the Japanese economy. Our mission is to solve global problems such as the protein crisis by creating new raw materials from silkworms and supplying them to multiple industries through efficient mass production.

Silkworms are naturally rich in protein, have abundant nutrients, and are full of potential. There have been great advances in the research of silkworms’ unique nutrients that are not found in other insects. Silkworms are suitable for mass production because of their nature of not escaping and not cannibalizing, that has been developed over the long history of domestication. Ongoing research on silkworms continues to yield new discoveries. We believe silkworms will solve the global food crisis and even health problems using Japanese technologies and new research findings.
